Dollie Rose Brush, 92, of Albany, passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021, in Breckenridge, Texas. Her memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, in the Melton-Kitchens Chapel of Memories.

Dollie was born in Morgan Mill, Texas, on April 5, 1929, to parents Louis and Mae (Hobbs) Yancey. She was a sweet person and lived a very simple life. In her younger adult years at a ranch near Caddo, she would get all her kids up early and take them to catch the school bus into Breckenridge. She would then head back to the house to take care of getting milk from the milk cows. She and her kids would make butter. Her son Ray still has the butter churn they used. Dollie was an exceptional cook, and her buttermilk pies were the absolute best!

She enjoyed playing dominoes, fishing, and camping out. Her happy time involved floating on the water in her tube… and maybe a cold beer in her hand! Her life may have been simple, but she lived a no-stress life and was happy to be blessed by God to be a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.

Dollie is survived by her four children, Linda Nickell of Louisiana, Ray Bandy of Breckenridge, David Bandy of Fort Worth, and Irwin Bandy of Breckenridge, along with 20 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations in Dollie’s name can be made to a charity or organization of the donor’s choice and may be left at the Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home office. Condolences can be made online at meltonkitchens.com.
