Roy Jackson, age 77, of Breckenridge, passed away Friday, June 4, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, June 7, at Morehart Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Dennis Hall officiating. Interment will follow in the Breckenridge Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Roy Wayne Jackson was born September 13, 1943, in Stephens County, Texas, to Vernon Owen Jackson and Martha Merle Dennison Jackson. He grew up and attended schools in Breckenridge, graduating from Breckenridge High School in 1964. Roy worked at his mother’s store, Martha’s 7 to 11, for several years. He was also a proud farmer. On May 26, 2001, he married Viola Jean Meadows in Breckenridge. Around town, he was known as “The Rose Man” because he would often hand them out to people in town. He enjoyed watching old westerns, especially if they starred John Wayne. Roy was a member of New Life Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers, Robert Jackson and John Henry Jackson; and one daughter, Waynette Trejo.

Mr. Jackson is survived by his daughter, Vickie Cristian and husband Robert of Haltom City; three grandchildren, Adam Miller, Robert Trejo and Adrian Trejo; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
