Robert Beaird, 89, of Breckenridge, passed away surrounded by family on May 13, 2021. His interment will take place at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Robert Wayne Beaird was born on June 24, 1931, in Kenefic, Oklahoma, to parents James Wesley and Vida Mary Beaird. Mr. Beaird graduated from high school in Kenefic, and shortly thereafter, he joined the U.S. Army in June of 1951. He was honorably discharged on December 22, 1953.

Robert met the love of his life, Lorraine Larson, in Germany. They were married on May 15 and 16, 1953. Upon his discharge from the military, the couple moved to St. Paul, Minnesota. He then furthered his education; he became a teacher, vice principal, and basketball coach. He even served as the mayor at one time!

Robert and his wife had three children, Barbara Luecke, Janet Eisenreich, and Steven Jay Beaird; along with four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

In April of 2015, Robert moved back to Breckenridge and lived with his baby sister and her two granddaughters, Montana and Savanah Fade. They helped take care of him until his passing.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers, and two sisters. He is survived by his three children; his grandchildren and great-grandchild; three sisters, Wanda Abraham, Stella Sanders, and Sheila Fournier; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
