The Breckenridge 7-on-7 football team qualified for the state tournament when they traveled to Graham on Saturday, May 15, and won the Division II State Qualifying Tournament.

The tournament included four Pools — A, B, C and D. Pools A and B were played in Graham. Pools C and D were played in Springtown. The winner of the A-B games and the winner of the C-D games will play in the state tournament in June.

In the Pool A games, Breckenridge beat Bridgeport (39-25), Graham (28-13) and Peaster (33-20). They then played the winner of the Pool B games, Dumas and won that game, 26-0, as well.

Head Coach Shaun Lehr said this is the second time a Breckenridge 7-on-7 team has qualified for the state tournament; the first time was in 1999.

The State Tournament will be June 24-25 at the Veterans Park and Athletic Complex in College Station.
