Tom Hicks
Tom Hicks, age 70, of Breckenridge, passed away Monday, April 26, 2021. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Morehart Mortuary.
Thomas Fredrick Hicks was born August 23, 1950, in Arkansas to parents Robert Samuel Hicks and Patsy Maurine Nichols Hicks. His family moved to Texas when he was young. After graduation, Tom joined the United States Army. He also served in the Navy. Tom moved to Breckenridge in 2004 and then to Bolivia in 2005 for several years before returning to Breckenridge in 2009. Tom received his nursing degree and worked as an RN at Stephens Memorial Hospital. He more recently worked at Villa Haven and at Wal-Mart. On April 10, 2010, he married Zoni Elaine Imboden in Azle, Texas. The two had known each other since they were about 10 years old but lost touch and reconnected later in life. He loved his family and spending time with them, including his beloved dogs.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Hicks, Sr. and Patsy Hicks; his sister, Patty Myers; one brother, Robert Samuel Hicks, Jr; and one step-son, Robert Shane Lucas.
Mr. Hicks is survived by his wife, Zoni Hicks; two step-children, Luke Lucas, Chad J. Poteet; one brother, David Hicks and wife Sherri; four grandchildren, Kiersten Lucas, Keston Lucas, Sage Poteet, Jet Poteet; his nieces and nephews, Michelle Hicks, Ashley Brashear, Bridgett Myers, Pat Myers, Travis Hicks; three great-grandchildren, Charlie, Atticus, Thatcher; and numerous great-nieces and -nephews.
