Three people transported to hospital following Monday afternoon accident

Three people were transported to Stephens Memorial Hospital following a two-vehicle accident on Monday afternoon, April 19. Around 3:47 p.m. Breckenridge police received a call about a wreck at West Walker Street and Ridge Road.

According the reports from the Breckenridge Police Department, a maroon 2007 Lexus driven by an 89-year-old woman, was traveling east bound in the 2600 block of West Walker. The vehicle was involved in a collision with a red 2005 Kia minivan which was traveling west bound, occupied by a 31-year-old woman and a juvenile.

The driver of the Lexus was transported to Stephens Memorial and then flown to Hendrick Medical Center by Air Evac. The two occupants of the Kia were transported to Stephens Memorial Hospital by a family member.

Emergency units from the Breckenridge Fire Department, Stephens County Sheriff’s Office and AMR Ambulance service responded to the crash.
