Local FFA teams compete in Area contests; Horse Judging team going to state
Breckenridge High School’s FFA students recently competed in Area 4 Career Development Events in Graford, Stephenville and Ballinger, and the Horse Judging team is going to the State contest.
According to information from FFA sponsors Austin Hanna and Brooke Diaz, local teams that competed included Wildlife, Vet Tech, Horse, Nursery Landscape, Livestock Judging, Range Judging, and Wool Judging.
“These events are based around different aspects of the agriculture industry,” Hanna said in a news release. “All the students that participated have been the last few months studying, practicing, and competing at a chance to improve enough to advance to state. Every student that competed has steadily gotten better throughout this judging season. We are all extremely proud of all of our kids.”
Three teams finished in the top 10:
- Horse judging finished 5th place as a team and advanced to the state contest. Kason Knight was the first high individual (scored higher that anyone else in the Area), and Jett Echols was 14th high individually.
