Barbara Pierce, age 79, of Breckenridge, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, at Morehart Mortuary chapel with Rev. Michael Roach officiating. Interment will follow in the Breckenridge Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, March 8, at Morehart Mortuary.

Barbara Antassie Sanders was born May 24, 1941, in Frankell, Texas, to Orval Sanders and Edna Harrison Sanders. On November 26, 1975, she married Jerry Wayne Pierce in Breckenridge. She worked as a waitress for over 40 years. Barbara was very crafty and could make anything. In her free time, she enjoyed painting and crocheting and was also known to make the best fudge. She never met a stranger and loved George Jones.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerry Pierce; one son, Ron Shirley; one brother, Orval Ardyce Sanders; one granddaughter, Carla Baxley Gann; one son-in-law, Gary Boyd.

Barbara is survived by her three children, Teresa Boyd, Carol Quiroz and husband Pilar, and Brad Shirley and wife Missy; one brother, Billy Sanders and wife Linda; three sisters, Wynell Wilson, Wilma Evans and husband Danny, and Nancy Elder and husband David; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
