Ronald Henry Sadler, 74, of Woodson, passed away at his residence on Thursday, February 18, 2021. His cremation has been entrusted to the staff of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Sadler was born in Coleman, Texas, on June 15, 1946, to parents James Norvell Sadler and Hazel Irene (Bull) Sadler. After graduating from Novice High School, he enlisted in the US Army. Then, on December 27, 1969, in Novice, Texas, he married Vicki Lynn Smart.

In 1987, after his retirement as a Warrant Officer 2, he worked as a Dispatcher/Jailer for the Martin County Sheriff’s Office and later as a Dispatcher for the Throckmorton County Sheriff’s Office. Mr. Sadler was a Vietnam veteran who loved fishing, going to the casino, chatting on Facebook, and shooting the bull with friends. And sure enough, you could always count on him to freely give his opinion!

Mr. Sadler was preceded in death by his parents, James, and Hazel; one son, Sean Sadler; and his brothers, Norvell, Perry, and Larry Sadler.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Vicki Sadler of Woodson; brother, Harley Sadler of Lawn, Texas; sister, Annette Johnson of Waxahachie, Texas; and sisters-in-law, Patti Pattillo of Woodson, Peggy Sadler of Fort Worth, Texas, and Becky Sadler of Tuscola, Texas. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and two beloved dogs, Harley and Jack.
