BHS graduate Kaitlyn Ellis named Player of the Week by American Southwest Conference

Breckenridge High School graduate Kaitlyn Ellis was named the Women’s Basketball Player of the Week – West Division last week by the American Southwest Conference.

Ellis, who is a senior at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, had 15 points and a career-high 15 rebounds as the Cowgirls won 60-50 at Sul Ross State University on Jan. 14. She also added two assists, two steals and a block while shooting 53.8 percent (7-of-13) from the field.

The 2017 BHS graduate is the only senior on the Hardin-Simmons women’s basketball team this year.
