Teresa Piña
Teresa Piña, age 55, of Breckenridge, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021. Funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 9, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Dias officiating. Interment will follow in the Hart Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Rosary will be recited from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 8, at Morehart Mortuary.
Teresa Mejia was born June 28, 1965, in Jerecuaro, Guanajuato, Mexico, to parents, Jesus Mejia and Carmen Esquivel. She married Aurelio Piña in December 1984 in Mexico. They raised their family, including 3 children, in Breckenridge. Teresa worked for BISD as a head cook for many years until she retired for health reasons in 2006. She enjoyed cooking, being with her grandkids, and loved her cat, “Lady.” Teresa was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Augustin Mejia.
Teresa is survived by her husband, Aurelio Piña; three children, Gabriel Piña, Monica Jones and husband Nathan, and Adriana Piña and husband Giovanni Velasquez; 11 siblings; 7 grandchildren, Erick Williamson, Ayden Williamson, Gabriel Piña, Jr., Emily Jones, Lily Jones, Melanie Piña, Kimberly Piña, and one more on the way; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and other relatives.
