Gary Wayne Thames
Gary Thames, 74, of Breckenridge, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, December 29, 2020. His cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home.
Gary Wayne Thames was born on April 1, 1946, in Gladewater, Texas, to parents Cecil Fred Thames and Dela (Notgrass) Thames. Gary attended Fort Worth Christian College, and later, on September 26, 1979, he married his wife, Marsha (Berry) Thames. He then worked for EBAA Iron in Eastland for 15 years.
Gary was both a loving husband and father. He was hard working but could also be a little hard-headed! He loved working on his hot rods, playing his guitars, and being with his music family. He was a hunter sometimes, but he loved fishing. Oh, those fishing stories… He could sit on the end of a dock for hours, even if he didn’t catch anything.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Dela, and his brother, Larry Thames.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Marsha Thames; his son, Anthony Tumlinson, Jr., of Breckenridge; and his daughter, Sherri Cox, of Wichita Falls.
