Isabel ‘Chavelo’ Jimenez

Isabel “Chavelo” Jimenez, age 76, of Breckenridge, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020. Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, December 28, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Dias officiating. Interment will follow in the Breckenridge Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Rosary will be recited from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, December 27, at Morehart Mortuary Chapel.
Isabel Ledesma Jimenez was born July 8, 1944, in Breckenridge to parents Jose Maria Jimenez and Maria Teresa Ledesma Jimenez. Prior to starting his own family, Isabel lived with his sister, helping raise several nieces and nephews. He was self-employed as a carpet layer for over 20 years. After 57 years together, Isabel married Esperanza Morales on April 18, 2013, in Breckenridge. He enjoyed listening to music and watching westerns. When his children were younger, he would often take them to hunt, fish and explore at a ranch in Strawn. Isabel was a family man and loved spending time at family gatherings.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Santiago Nava; eight siblings, Inez De La Cruz, Pazquala Jimenez, Rita Alvarado, Federico Jimenez, Raymond Nava, Tomas Nava, Virginia Sauceda, Felix Santos; one son, Jimmy Joe Jimenez; and two grandsons, Anthony Pineda, Isaiah Markus Jimenez.
Isabel is survived by his wife, Esperanza Jimenez of Breckenridge; five children, Connie Pineda and husband Francisco, Isbel Jimenez, all of Breckenridge, Joe Jimenez and wife Barbara of Oklahoma, Daniel Jimenez and wife Dee, Domingo Jimenez, all of Breckenridge; daughter-in-law, Misty Jimenez; one brother, Daniel Nava and wife Elena of Strawn; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
