Joyce M. Hernandez
Joyce Hernandez, 91, of Breckenridge, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020. A celebration of life/visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 10, in the Melton-Kitchens Chapel of Memories. Her rosary and funeral mass, officiated by Fr. Innocent, will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, December 11, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Menard, Texas. Her interment, under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home staff, will immediately follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Joyce was born on September 18, 1929, in Rhineland, Texas, to parents Lucio and Eustacia Mora. She married Ralph Hernandez in 1948. Together they had eight children. Joyce lived in Knox County most of her life where she worked as a nurse. She had a love for people and took great pride in caring for her patients. She enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family was her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sons Tony and Joey, brother David, and sisters Vivian, Darlene, and Francis.
She is survived by sons Pete Hernandez, Ray Hernandez, and Rudy Hernandez; daughters Joyce Hernandez, Cindy Gonzales, and Kathy Hernandez; 22 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; along with two sisters and three brothers.
