Zane Grey Judkins, age 96, of Breckenridge, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2020. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 5, at Morehart Mortuary Chapel with Dr. Genoa Goad officiating. Interment will follow in the Battle Creek Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Zane Grey Judkins was born February 24, 1924, in Odessa, Texas, to parents Howard Judkins and Myrtle Callis Judkins. In 1943, Zane joined the United States Army and served in World War II before his honorable discharge in 1945. While in the Army, he earned a bronze star for his service. On June 15, 1946, he married Billie Faye Noland in Fort Worth. He worked for WTU for many years until he retired. After his retirement, he was a rancher and worked on his ranch in Eolian. He was a member of the Eolian Community Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Myrtle Judkins; his loving wife of 70 years, Billie Judkins; three brothers; and one grandson, Thomas Lance “TJ” Judkins.

Mr. Judkins is survived by two sons, Benny Judkins and wife Saranne of Abilene, and Jimmy Judkins and wife Jackie of Breckenridge; two grandsons, Zane Grant Judkins and Jordan Shane Judkins, both of San Antonio; one granddaughter-in-law, Amy Judkins of Breckenridge; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers include Dennis Jurecek, Ken Raney, Wesley Wood, Jerry Gray, Robert Gray and Craig Caukins. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Love and Louie Trammel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Eolian Community Church or to Hendrick Hospice and may be left at Morehart Mortuary. Condolences may be made online at www.morehartmortuary.net.

The family requests that everyone wear a mask while attending the service.
