Edd Price Fambro was born August 15, 1921, in the Wayland community to parents Truman and Chloe Fambro. Skeet graduated Breckenridge High School and made the area his home until his retirement. He met a local gal shortly after graduation and fell in love with Rosemary Huestis. They married in the Huestis family home in Cisco June 22, 1942. They were married for over 75 years before Rosemary passed away. Skeet served four years in the United States Navy during WWII until 1946. The couple raised one son, Paul Fambro.

Skeet was employed for over thirty years as a Sales Manager for Community Public Service Company until his retirement in 1983 and relocated to his ranch in Strawn. After his retirement, he raised cattle and exotic wildlife. Skeet’s hobby and love for the ranch turned into a full-time job.

During Skeet’s life in the area he made a positive impact on the community he loved by serving as Post Commander of the Breckenridge VFW Post 7767, President of the Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce, President of Rotary, President of the Breckenridge Industrial Foundation, Director of First National Bank, Distinguished Citizen Award, Honorary Chapter Farmer for FFA, Conservation Farmer of the Year and a faithful member of First Christian Church.

Memorials can be made in his name to the Stephens County Humane Society and can be left at the Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home office. Condolences can be made online at meltonkitchens.com.
