The family will welcome friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2020, at the funeral home for a visitation.

Jeffrey Eugene McKoy was born on February 4, 1974, in Hobbs, New Mexico. Jeff was a 1992 graduate of Breckenridge High School and, after graduation, went straight into the United States Air Force and served our country for four years – something he was extremely proud of. Regardless of where he went, if he encountered another veteran, he always shook their hand and made sure to thank them for their service… ALWAYS! He was employed by DOW Electronics in Carrollton, Texas, and loved his job. He took great pride in working every single day to be a better version of himself as he always said. His son, Jalen, was his greatest accomplishment, something he told everyone. And his two grandbabies were his heart: they made him proud to be a granddad.

No matter where Jeff was, he wanted the people around him to be happy — he never left a store or place he visited without making sure to put a smile on someone’s face. He always said, “You never know what people are going through and that might be the only thing they smile about today!” His smile and laughter were infectious: he never wanted anyone around him to be sad.

If he saw someone hungry, he always had to give them food or money, whichever he felt they needed, because he might be the only person that would help that day. And most importantly, he always let them know he would pray for them.

He was a workout fanatic. Nightmare, Inc., a company that reached out to him through both Instagram and Facebook, was paying him for his workout videos and pics. He loved working out so much that if he happened to miss a day, he made sure he worked out double the next day. Nothing was going to defer his motivation. He was always trying to motivate people to be better and healthier.

He was the biggest, the ABSOLUTE BIGGEST, Bronco fan on the planet. He stood by his team no matter what — nothing anyone could say would deter him from his love of his team!

Jeff was preceded in death by his mother, Laverne, and his father, Elisha “Herbert” McKoy, Jr.

He is survived by his son, Jalen McKoy; stepson, Isiah Gandar; father, Craig Davis; sisters, Star Davis, Jackie McKoy, and Alison McKoy; brothers, Jason McKoy, Ricky McKoy, and Craig McKoy; and those two precious grandbabies, J’Angel Abram and J’Liana Dream.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jeff’s name can be made to a charity or organization of the donor’s choice and can be left at the Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home office. Condolences can be made online at meltonkitchens.com.
