William “Bill” Brannon, 74, of Breckenridge, passed away at his residence overlooking Hubbard Creek Lake on Sunday, August 9, 2020. The family has chosen to not hold a visitation or service.

William Brannon was born on October 2, 1945, in Chicago to parents Henry and Natasha.

Bill joined the Navy in 1961 at the age of 17 and would later go on to serve in the Vietnam War.

Bill met his future wife, Jeannie Vanderheyden, in Las Vegas. They met through his local Kingdom Hall, and they both knew right away that they were to be married. On January 29, 2001, after only two months of dating, sure enough, they were married! After several job relocation moves from Vegas to Salt Lake City, Utah, the couple decided to call Breckenridge, Texas, home. Here the couple was involved with their local Kingdom Hall and local neighborhood. In October of 2019, Bill published his book, “Weight Loss Through Laughter,” a satire on evolution. The book did really well and he was able to check one big thing off his bucket list.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Jeannie; daughters Angela Brannon of Wasilla, Alaska, and Jessica Maurhan of Anchorage, Alaska; sons Michael Brannon of Tupelo, Mississippi, James Brannon of Wisconsin, Jeremiah Trevelian of Eagle River, Alaska, and Steven Brannon of Yuka Valley, California; along with numerous grandchildren.

Bill will always be remembered as a humble, loving father and husband. He will be deeply missed.

Memorials can be made in Bill’s name to a local charity or the Breckenridge Kingdom Hall and can be left at the Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home office. Condolences can be made at online at meltonkitchens.com.
