On Saturday, Sept. 12, the Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Scholarship Golf Tournament at the Breckenridge Country Club, held in memory of Johnny Bates. The event will raise funds for Breckenridge High School scholarships.

Tee times will be at 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Breakfast or lunch will be provided, depending on the tee time. The tournament is an 18 hole scramble, and teams will be divided into two golfers each. Several door prizes will be awarded, and all participants will receive an event golf towel.

This past year, the tournament provided six $1,000 scholarships to Breckenridge High School graduating seniors.

Many of the Chamber events have been cancelled in the past few months due to the coronavirus pandemic, and the Chamber is seeking the support of local businesses for this event through sponsorships and donations. Donations may be mailed to P.O. Box 1466, Breckenridge, Texas 76424 or taken to the office at 100 E. Elm St. Businesses can call 254-559-2301 for an invoice.

Sponsorship options include:

  • $150 Supporting Sponsorship – Includes business name listed on event golf towels and recognition on the Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.

  • $350 Corporate Sponsorship – Includes company logo on all event golf towels; event signage; recognition on the Chamber of Commerce Facebook page; entry fee for team of two.

  • $1,000 “Hole” Package Sponsor – Includes company logo on all event golf towels; event signage; recognition on the Chamber of Commerce Facebook page; recognition on live radio; entry fee for team of two; business logo displayed on a course hole.

Participants may also donate a door prize for the event, which will receive recognition during the event. Businesses who wish to purchase a sponsorship package must respond via mail, telephone, or in person by Friday, Aug. 21.
