Julia Mae Rodgers, 73, of Breckenridge went home to be with her Savior on July 10, 2020, in Stephenville, Texas, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on July 15, 2020, in the Chapel of Memories at Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home, officiated by Jeremy Adams, with a burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco, Texas, under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home.

Julia Mae Rodgers was born on February 20, 1947, in Colorado City to parents Roy Lee and Ethel Marie Brown and grew up with four sisters. Julia loved sewing, crafting of ALL KINDS, but mostly loved to cook. She worked at the Woodson ISD cafeteria for a while and was known to spoil the teachers and faculty with her homemade cinnamon rolls and hamburger buns. Julia loved people and serving them with all her heart. She always had a positive attitude and never had a bad word to say about anyone. She loved Jesus and didn’t mind letting you know that. Julia was a person that would go above and beyond if anyone needed anything.

Julia is preceded in death by her parents, Roy Lee and Ethel Marie Brown; husband, Darren Rodgers; and sister, Reca Jeanine Barber.

Julia is survived by her sisters, Anita Butler and her husband Harold of Waco, Tina Jackson of Humble and Kim Fudge of Robinson; along with many nephews and nieces; daughters, Kelli Thompson of Snyder, and Tobi Nowell and husband Kevin of Albany; step-daughter Nicole Rodgers of Wichita Falls; son Billy Kyle Hitchcock and wife Sally of Breckenridge; step-son, Jace Rodgers and wife Layla and kids of Springfield, Illinois; grandsons, AJ Clark and wife Kimberly of Breckenridge, Spencer Clark and wife Gabby of Throckmorton, and Ian Hitchcock of Breckenridge; granddaughters, Shayna Carlin and husband Cole of Graham, Jaycie Thompson of Throckmorton, Kaedyn Nowell of Albany and Bailey Hitchcock of Breckenridge; great-grandsons CJ Clark and Colt Clark of Breckenridge; and great-granddaughter, Bryel Clark of Breckenridge.
