Jason Yancey, 35, passed away at his home in Phoenix, Arizona, on June 25, 2020. A memorial service will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2020, in the Melton-Kitchens Chapel of Memories.

Jason Paul Yancey was born on September 30, 1984, to parents Robert and Loretta in Cisco, Texas. Jason was a creative person, both artistically and when it came to restoring old cars and motorcycles. He also enjoyed being outside, whether it was fishing, gardening, skateboarding, BMX bike riding, cooking out, or just being around his family and friends. At nearly seven feet tall, Jason was known as a gentle giant. He would always hit his head on ceiling fans, light fixtures, or door frames: something that his family will always remember.

Jason is survived by his mother, Loretta Ainsley and husband James of Abilene; father, Robert Yancey of Amarillo; sisters, Bethany Robin Yancey and Brionna Srader, both of Amarillo; brothers, Devin Goswick of Abilene and Tobey Sires; aunt and uncle Delmar and Sherry Wright of Breckenridge Texas; aunt April Athas of Plano; cousins, Wanda McClanahan, Tanya Gee, and Sharla Wright who were more like sisters to Jason; multiple additional cousins, nieces, and nephews; as well as all of his friends in Phoenix.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jason Yancey Memorial Scholarship Fund and can be left at the Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home office. Condolences can be made online at meltonkitchens.com.
