The Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce added a touch of green to the downtown area with new banners on Walker Street on Friday morning.

There are two different banner designs — One says “Shop Breckenridge” and features a shopping bag with a “B” on it, and the other one says “Breckenridge, A great place to ‘B'”.

City of Breckenridge employees installed the banners on the lampposts on both sides of Walker Street in downtown Breckenridge.

The banners were designed by Asher Design & Technical Services, and Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Carrie Holson said that Chamber board member Cindi Woodward also helped with the design and finances for the banners.

“We just want to encourage everyone to shop local,” Holson said in a video on the Chamber’s Facebook page. “Right now, with everything as crazy as it’s been, we need people more than ever. We have great shops downtown.”
