Bertie Fay Deubler, 81, of Breckenridge passed away on June 2, 2020, in Abilene, Texas. A memorial service for Fay will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, June 8, in the chapel at Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home with WC Roach officiating.

Fay was born to Elmer G. Jones and Bertie L. Jones on July 13, 1938, in Stephens County. She attended Schools in Moran, Texas, later graduating from Breckenridge High School. She married Gus Deubler on May 2, 1959, in Portales, New Mexico. They made their first home in Lubbock, Texas, before making their life and family in Breckenridge, Texas.

Fay was the manager of a local boutique, then later a Sheriff’s Deputy for Stephens County. When she left the Sheriff’s office, she became a homemaker. She was lovingly referred to as Nana Fay by her grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Bertie Jones; her husband, Gus Deubler; sister Wanda Jones; brother Riley Jones; and twin brother Ray Jones.

She is survived by sons Randy and wife Deborah of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Ricky and wife Tonda of Breckenridge, and Rocky and wife Stephanie of Breckenridge; grandchildren Troy, Barry, Deanna, Jason, Brooke, Brent, Stetson, Andrea, Sterlynn, Catherine, Broden, Taylor and Cullen; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters-in-law Peggy Jones and Charlotte Jones; as well as her very special friend Valdimar “Val” Gomez.

The family would like to give a very special thank you to Val’s daughters who have helped us take care of Fay during these tough times. To Rosie, Valarie, and Lupe: our family appreciates you very much.
