Odus Faye Phillips

Faye Phillips 79, of Breckenridge, Texas, passed away in Fort Worth on April 1, 2020. Due to the recent events, the family has chosen to do a cremation and private memorial at a later date.

Odus Faye Phillips was born May 31, 1940 in Ranger, Texas. Throughout her life she held several jobs after serving in the United States Army with Braniff Airlines and U.S, Army. Faye was a private woman, but many of things she enjoyed in her life were traveling to as many places as time would allow. She spoke often of her trips to Germany and Japan. While in Germany, Faye asked for a glass of buttermilk in a local restaurant. The server brought out a glass of milk and a stick of butter. She laughed and shared that story over the years. She was an avid collector of rare dolls and antique guns. Faye was a talented seamstress. She was a lifetime member of the Corvette Club and her local crochet club. In her local crochet club, Faye helped many of the members get started. She would always be willing to assist if they had difficulties while crocheting.

Faye is survived by one daughter, Katherine Copps of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and two nephews, Dusty and Paul Austin of Dallas, Texas.

Memorials can be made in her name to the local Breckenridge Fine Arts Center, and be left at the Melton Kitchens Funeral Home office. Condolences may be made at www.meltonkitchens.com
