The Breckenridge Independent School District Board of Trustees will meet at 8 a.m. on Friday and are expected to name a new Athletic Director and head football coach for BISD. If approved, the candidate will replace Casey Hubble, who left earlier this year to take a job as Athletic Director at Canton ISD.

According to Interim Superintendent Earl Jarrett, the athletic director search committee’s recommendation will be presented to the trustees for approval at Friday’s meeting. If  approved, the board will take action at the meeting and offer a contract to the new Athletic Director. Jarrett said he doesn’t anticipate any problem with the board’s approval of the recommended applicant.

Members of the athletic hiring committee were Jarrett, Breckenridge High School Principal William Paul and Coach Kim Dieterich. The committee completed all their interviews and held their final meeting on Monday and made their recommendation.

If the Board of Trustees approves the recommendation and a contract on Friday, Jarrett said, he expects the new athletic director to start on the Monday after Spring Break (March 9-13).

Jarrett said the name of the candidate for the position will not be released until the meeting on Friday.
