Stephens Memorial Hospital named as a Top 100 rural hospital
Stephens Memorial Hospital announced last week that it has been named a 2020 Top 100 Rural and Community Hospital by the Chartis Center for Rural Health, a healthcare industry advisory and analytics services firm.
The annual award honoring rural hospital performance is determined by the results of iVantage Health Analytics’ Hospital Strength index, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2020.
“At Stephens Memorial Hospital, we are deeply committed to providing the highest quality care to the members of our community,” Chris Curtis, practice administrator for SMH, said in a news release. “It is always nice to be recognized for our hard work, but at the end of the day we do it for our patients.
“Breckenridge is fortunate to have some of the best nurses and providers in the business, and our inclusion on the list of the top 100 rural hospitals in America proves that,” Curtis continued. “We are working hard to help people see that just because we live in rural America doesn’t mean that we can’t have the highest level of healthcare possible. We are constantly looking for ways to do things even better. Our commitment to excellence will never stop.”
Based on publicly available data, the index is an assessment of rural hospital performance.
“The Top 100 Rural & Community Hospital award program reminds us that rural providers haven’t lost touch with their mission and are committed to delivering better quality, better outcomes and better patient satisfaction,” Michael Topchik, national leader for the Chartis Center for Rural Health, said in the news release. “It’s a pleasure to be able to not only recognize this year’s recipients, but our larger group of top 100 alumni as we celebrate 10 years of The Hospital Strength Index.”
