Monte Lawson, 70, of Breckenridge, Texas, passed away on January 31, 2020, in Fort Worth. Memorial service will be held 1 p.m., February 18, 2020, at the Melton Kitchens Funeral Home Chapel. The service will be under the direction of the staff at Melton Kitchens.

Monte Eugene Lawson was born October 5, 1949, in McCook, Nebraska, to parents Lloyd and Leona Lawson. He grew up most of his life on the family farm in Hayes County and always loved to return for a visit anytime Monte was able. He graduated high school in Hayes Center, Nebraska, and then went off to attend Denver Automotive Institute. Shortly after graduation, Monte went directly to work. In the early 1990s, he owned his own glass business. Then he ended up going to work for Pepsi as a service technician in Washington for over 22 years. After retiring from Pepsi in 2015, he and his beautiful wife moved to Breckenridge, Texas. He was known to many as the “Jack of all trades,” as there seemed to be nothing he could not fix. Monte loved fishing and HAM radios, but his real passion was his 1933 Ford Coupe, which he restored from the ground up. The 1933 Ford Coupe was commonly called his mistress by Monte.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Harold Lawson; mother, Leona Wittwer Lawson; and sister, Charlette.

Monte was survived by his wife, Sandy Lawson; daughters, Megan and Shawna; son, Brad; brothers, Gaylord and wife Deb, and Lonnie and wife Cindy; brother-in-law, Lee and wife Carol; and many friends, local and abroad. Monte will be missed by those that crossed his path.

in lieu of flowers a memorial can be made of the charity of choice and left at Melton Kitchens Funeral Home office. Condolences can be made to www.meltonkitchens.com.
