Charliene Martin, age 81 of Albany, joined her heavenly father on Wednesday, December 18, 2019. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 21, in the Albany Cemetery with Pastor Tom Chandler officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, December 21, at Morehart Mortuary of Albany.

Shirley Charliene Cribbs was born April 19, 1938, in Elbert, Texas, to Charlie Bud Cribbs and Lavera Easley Cribbs. She graduated from Throckmorton High School. On February 21, 1958, Charliene married Carrol Gene Martin at the J.A. Matthews Ranch in Albany. She worked at Sanders Drug Store in Albany for many years, as well as First National Bank in Albany for 18 years until her retirement. Charliene was never known to complain and was always lending a helping hand to others. She also had a green thumb, working with plants whenever she could. Her family was her pride and joy, especially her grandchildren, and her dog, Phoebe.

Charliene was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Lavera Cribbs; and her husband, Carrol Martin.

Charliene is survived by her daughters, Donna Schkade and husband David of Albany, Deedra Boaz and husband Randy of Breckenridge; one sister, Mattie Wells of Chandler; one brother, Barry Cribbs and wife Marsha of Snyder; five grandchildren, Jason Hash and wife Misty, Heather Schkade, Kevin Schkade, Colt Morrison and wife Teddy Jo, and Clay Boaz and wife Misty; and ten great-grandchildren.
