Young readers gathered on the football field at Buckaroo Stadium Tuesday night to celebrate reading and listen to stories read by local celebrity readers from Breckenridge Independent School District.

The readers and the books they read were:
- North Elementary Principal Prairie Freeman, The Ugly Pumpkin;
- East Elementary Reading Specialist Tammy McGrady, Pirates Love Underpants;
- Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Casey Hubble, Horton Hatches the Egg;
- BISD Chief Learning Officer Molly Johnson, The Pout-Pout Fish and the Bully-Bully Shark;
- South Elementary Principal Kenna Rainey, Scarecrow;
- South Elementary Assistant Principal RaKel Paul, Maniac McGee (excerpt);
- East Elementary Principal Barbara Collinsworth, Be Brave, Little Penguin.
The event also included a reading-themed centerpiece contest for elementary students. The winners of the competition were: Christian Lechner, first place; and, Maggie Wunsch, second place
Kids attending Buckaroo Book Night had a chance to participate in a book swap, trading their gently used books for “new” books.
