Janet Boggess, age 57 of Breckenridge, passed away Friday, October 11, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 16, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Dannie Lee officiating. Interment will follow in the Post Oak Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, at Morehart Mortuary Chapel.

Janet Elaine Thames was born August 14, 1962, in Abilene, Texas, to parents Kenneth Thames and Rita Juanell Waggoner Thames. Janet grew up and attended schools in Breckenridge. On October 8, 1983, Janet married Randy Harold Boggess in Breckenridge, where they made their home and raised their family. She worked as a CNA at Stephens Memorial Hospital and was loved and cherished there. She enjoyed working outside, riding motorcycles and going on adventures. Janet was a fearless and generous person, always going out of her way to help others. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a great daughter, sister, wife, aunt, mother and Nini.

She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Thames, Sr.; husband, Randy Boggess; uncle, Doyle Waggoner; cousin, Doug Waggoner; and brother-in-law, Jeff Gandy.

Janet is survived by her two daughters, Stephanie Elder and husband Caleb, and Cassie Boggess, all of Breckenridge; mother, Nell Waggoner of Breckenridge; one sister, Kathy Gandy of Abilene; one brother, Kenneth Thames, Jr. of Austin; four grandchildren, Caegan Elder, Cohen Elder, Clay Elder and Castin Rose; and numerous nieces and nephews.
