Patricia Nicholson May, 84, of Houston went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, September 11, 2019, in Fort Worth. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at Tallowood Baptist Church with Dewayne Brooks and Larry Bertrand officiating. The family will be welcoming friends for a visitation, one hour prior to the service in the foyer of the sanctuary. Interment will follow at Memorial Oaks under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home.

She was born September 29, 1934, in Fort Worth, Texas, to parents Tom and Lilly Nicholson. After graduating Robert E. Lee high school in Baytown, she met a distinguished gentleman from the Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M University. That gentleman stole her heart and she fell deeply in love with Jimmy Dale May. Patricia married the love of her life in 1955, and was happily married to Jimmy for 53 and half years until his passing. She loved Aggie football and the fighting Texas Aggie Band. Patricia was an avid walker. She and Jimmy belonged to a walking club called, Volks Sport. They both walked in every state, except Alaska and Hawaii. Jimmy and Patricia were literally side by side on every adventure during these numerous walks across this country. With each walk they took together they would wear matching T-shirts to commemorate this new adventure together. She was a vocal survivor of Breast Cancer. Patricia was a faithful member of the Tallowood Baptist church for over fifty years. She believed strongly in supporting the various missionaries associated with her church. Even after her passing, Patricia had a check written and ready to be sent to the church for mission work. Anyone that knew her kind soul knew that her love and walk with the Lord was priority. Patricia was a source of strength for her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jimmy Dale May; brothers. Tommy and Bobby Nicholson; sister, Theda Gull.

She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca May of Kingwood, Texas, and Crystal Shook of Breckenridge, Texas; grandchildren, Eric and wife Crystal R. Shook of Breckenridge, Texas; great-grandchildren, Kaden, Brasen and Talen Shook from Breckenridge; along with many church friends from Tallowood Baptist Church.

Memorial contributions can be made in her name to the Boys and Girls Country home and may be left at Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home or online. Condolences may be made at www.meltonkitchens.com
