Robert Eugene Ridgeway, 89, passed away surrounded by loved ones, Thursday, September 12, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at Bethany Baptist Church with grandson, Robert Ridgeway and Curtis Payne officiating. Private family interment will follow under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home at the Breckenridge Cemetery.

Bob was born January 18, 1930, in Merrimac, Oklahoma, to parents Roy and Cleta Ridgeway. He attended, played football and graduated high school in Bruni, Texas. Bob’s early career began in the oil field business. Then Bob established Ridgeway Motors in Breckenridge. He worked side-by-side his son, Daryl, and enjoyed every minute of that. At Bob’s retirement, Ridgeway Motors had been in business over forty years downtown Breckenridge.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Virginia Ridgeway; son, Daryl Ridgeway; sister-in-law, Joyce Ridgeway; and grandson, Todd Sampson.

Bob is survived by his daughters, Cheryl Ridgeway of Breckenridge and step-daughter, Carla Hill and husband John of Breckenridge; brother, Richard Ridgeway of Comanche, Texas; four grandchildren, Laura Pilgrim and husband Kevin, Robert Ridgeway and wife Tosha, Alicia Pitchford and husband Scott, and Ashtyn Elliott; eight great-grandchildren, Shayla, Sarah, Eason, Seth, Robby, Reese, Roman and Wilder; nieces, Tonya, Sonya and Sidonna; and many friends that he met over the years, along with the mother of his children, Bobbie Ridgeway.

A dad, grandpa, brother and friend he was to his loved ones. He will be greatly missed by those that had grown to love him
