City rescinds Boil Water Notice on East Highway 180

The City of Breckenridge has rescinded the Boil Water Notice for the north side of U.S. Highway 180 from 1851 U.S. Highway 180 E. to 2971 U.S. Highway 180 E., effective Sept. 11. The original Boil Water Notice was issued on Aug. 13 as the construction crews on U.S. Highway 180 East started work to move the fire hydrants out of the ditches alongside the highway.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the City of Breckenridge to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform water customers that due to the interruption in service, water from the  system needed to be boiled prior to consumption.

The City took the necessary corrective actions to restore adequate pressure, disinfectant levels, and/or bacteriological quality and has provided TCEQ with testing results indicating that the water no longer requires boiling.

For more information, call the City Offices at 254-559-8287 or the Water Office at 254-559-7249.
