Norman Wilson, age 86 of Breckenridge, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2019. A private family service will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Morehart Mortuary.

Norman Ray Wilson was born May 11, 1933, in Bangs, Texas, to parents Luther Guy Wilson and Vina Campbell Wilson. He graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1951 and then joined the United States Marine Corps. After his discharge, Norman attended Ranger Junior College. He worked as a machinist for 35 years in New Mexico as well as a pumper in the oil field. Norman married Thelma Rhodes in 2001. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge and enjoyed reading and telling stories.

He was preceded by his parents; two wives, Doris Wilson, Lina Mae Poston; and one step-son, David O’Dell.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma Wilson; three step-children, Joe Campbell, Donny Peoples, Teresa Peoples; two nephews, Robert Deaton, Dale Deaton; one niece, Lecia Deaton Campbell; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of friends.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice and may be left at Morehart Mortuary. Condolences may be made online at www.morehartmortuary.net.
