Willie Joyce Norman, 87, of Breckenridge went to be with the Lord, Friday, September 6, 2019. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at Hart Cemetery with Patrick Frishe officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home.

She was born February 29, 1932, in Altos, Oklahoma, to parents Ode and Queenie Couch. She attended and graduated high school in Altos, Oklahoma. In 1963, she married Herbert Norman in Breckenridge, Texas. The couple shared many wonderful years until his passing in 1992. Joyce loved to sew and was known for her great seamstress work. Most of her adult life, Joyce did seamstress work until she retired. Outside of her work she loved to garden. Joyce always offered her advice on how to grow particular things. Gardening was something she felt she did well outside of work. Her family, dogs and gardening were the highlights of her days. In Joyce’s later years, when her health would not allow her to attend church regularly, she would always spend time in the word of God. Reading the Bible was important to her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jerry and Jimmy Couch; sister, Joanne Jacobs; sons, Terry Lee Hight and Billy Dean Hight; grandchildren, Allen Norman, Charles Hight, Alaina JoyceAnn Hight, Tammy Hight and Lynn Williams; stepdaughters, Connie Stinson and Linda Williams; and daughters-in-law, Cheryl, Theresa and Patrica.

She is survived by her daughter, Darala and husband James Halliburton of Breckenridge; children, Ronald Hight of Breckenridge, Roger Norman of Breckenridge, Mike Norman of Mineral Wells, Herbert Norman of Bakersfield, California and Barbara Brown of Breckenridge; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be missed greatly.

Memorial contributions can be made in her name to the Meals on Wheels and may be left at Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home. Condolences may be made at www.meltonkitchens.com
