Shirley Keith
Shirley Ann Screws Keith, 82, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 24, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 27, at First Baptist Church with Dr. Genoa Goad officiating. Interment will follow in the Harpersville Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday August 26, at Morehart Mortuary.
She was born October 12, 1936, in Freer, Texas, to James Albert Screws and Ada Cornelius Screws. She attended and graduated school in Breckenridge, Texas. On December 28, 1957, she married Marion Keith in Breckenridge where they shared 61 wonderful years. She worked at Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator until she became a mother. Then she spent her life as a homemaker. She loved teaching Sunday school and was always an active member of church. She was an avid lover of all animals, especially cats. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, James Kyle and Don Screws.
She is survived by her husband, Marion Keith of Breckenridge; one son, Lynn Keith of Breckenridge; two daughters, Debra Reynolds and husband Larry, and Mary Kirkpatrick and husband John, all of Breckenridge; one brother, Richard Kyle of Breckenridge; seven grandchildren, Otho Dale Noggle of Snyder, Jake Noggle of Breckenridge, Andrew Kirkpatrick and wife Shea of Shelby, North Carolina, Veronica Barrick and husband David of Leander, Ryan Ethridge and wife Jamie of Breckenridge, Stacey Keith and partner Matt Hall of Boston, Massachusetts, and Ashley Mendoza and husband Braulio of Florence; and, six great-grandchildren, Natalie, Isaac and Nathan Mendoza of Florence, Carlee Noggle, and Gage and Grayson Ethridge, all of Breckenridge.
Memorial contributions can be made in her name to the Stephens County Humane Society and may be left at Morehart Mortuary.
