Mary Hamilton, age 78 of Breckenridge, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, August 5, at First Baptist Church with Pastor Andy Rodgers officiating. Interment will follow in the Breckenridge Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Mary Frances Moczygemba was born October 22, 1940, in Lorenzo, Texas, to parents Leo Moczygemba and Rose Dworaczyk Moczygemba. Mary graduated as the valedictorian at Wilson High School and then went on to get her nursing degree in Amarillo. On April 28, 1962, Mary married John Arnold Hamilton in Plainview. She worked as an LVN in Lubbock, working as a surgical nurse and in home health. Mary also sold insurance for Mutual of Omaha. She enjoyed fishing and gardening in both flower gardens and vegetable gardens.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Margie Piwonka; one brother, Leroy Paul Moczygemba; and three grandchildren, Heather Renee Taylor, Dustin Leon Taylor and Cody Critchfield.

She is survived by her beloved companion of 19 years, JT Degraffenreid of Breckenridge; three children, Teresa Taylor, Vicki Critchfield and husband Shawn, all of Breckenridge, and Johnny Ray Hamilton of Huntsville; two brothers, Jerry Leon Moczygemba of Wilson, and Randy Moczygemba and wife Stephanie of New Braunfels; eight grandchildren, Heather Pettke and husband Dustin, Misty Taylor, Courtney Hyndman, John Paul Hamilton, Bud Taylor, Jay Taylor, Michael Hamilton, and Katherine Rose Hamilton; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Food Pantry and may be left at Morehart Mortuary. Condolences may be made online at www.morehartmortuary.net.
