State cattle validation set for Saturday, June 29, for 2019-2020 major shows
Students who plan to show cattle in any of the 2019-2020 major shows will need to attend the state cattle validation on Saturday. Additionally, the Stephens County Junior Livestock Show Board has finalized the schedule for the 2020 show and sale.
State cattle validation will take place Saturday, June 29, beginning at 8 a.m., at the Lake Country Animal Clinic, 146 CR 245, across from the Stephens County Ag and Community Center.
This validation is for steers/spring heifers attending any of the 2019-2020 major shows (e.g., State Fair, Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio, etc.).
The following must be present at validation:
- Animal being validated
- Registration papers for breeding animals
- Parent/guardian must be present to sign paperwork. Parents unable to attend must sign waiver and paperwork before validation. Ag teachers cannot sign on behalf of parent. Parents may sign for exhibitor if child cannot attend.
Families with conflicts, must make alternate arrangements prior to validation with the ag science teacher if they are showing under FFA, or with the County Extension agent if they are showing under 4-H.
Other animals will be validated on various dates beginning in October.
