Mary Laroe Herring, age 73 of Breckenridge, went to be with her Lord and savior on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, in Fort Worth, Texas. The funeral mass service will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at 10 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Breckenridge with Father Joseph officiating. The interment will follow the service at the Moon Cemetery under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home. The family will welcome friends and family for a rosary and visitation on Friday, May 24, 2019, at the Melton-Kitchens Chapel from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Mary was born August 13, 1945, to parents Thurman and Elaine Gulley in Munday, Texas. In 1962, she met and married her best friend, C.H. Herring. The couple ran a thriving insurance agency for many years in Breckenridge, called Herring Insurance Agency. Mary worked as an Insurance agent for most of her working career in the family business. The family always said, she knew how to be strong and was a hard working woman. Anyone that knew her well knew she loved the outdoors and being on the farm. Many evenings she would jump on the mule and just drive around the family farm that she dearly loved. She would always find projects around the farm and Mary would always be right in the middle. The family commonly called her the energized bunny, because she just would not stop. She often said that being outside, and working was her therapy and kept her moving after many back surgeries. Mary believed her family was everything, grandchildren being right at the top of that list. Her family affectionately gave her the name, Gigi, and always set the highest example for what it meant to be kind and selfless. Mary was a faithful member of the Sacred Heart Catholic church and tried to never miss her Saturday evening services.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Gayle Gulley.

Mary is survived by her husband, C.H. Herring of Breckenridge; daughters, Tonda Deubler and husband Ricky of Breckenridge, and Kandi Snell and husband Randy of Baird, Texas; brother, Danny Gulley and wife Susan of Munday, Texas; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous friends.

Memorials may be left at the Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home for the local Meals on Wheels and The American Diabetes Association. Condolences may be left for Mary at www.meltonkitchens.com
