Buckaroos head to Abilene to take on Wall Hawks in baseball regional semi-finals
The Breckenridge High School varsity baseball team headed out of town this morning with escorts by the fire and police departments and a downtown crowd cheering them on. The Buckaroos are on their way to the Regional Semi-Finals against the Wall High School Hawks.
The Regional Semi-Final winner will be determined in a best two-out-of-three series. Game 1 starts at 1 p.m. today, Friday, May 24, at Abilene Christian University’s baseball field. Game 2 is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 25, and, if necessary, Game 3 will begin 30 minutes after the end of Game 2. The local radio station KLXK FM-93.5 will broadcast the games, beginning with a pre-game show before each game starts.
The winner of the Breckenridge-Wall match-up will play the winner of the Brock-Bushland series in the Regional Finals. Breckenridge has played the Brock High School Eagles twice this year, losing the first game in March, 1-2, and winning the second game in April, 3-0.
Brock lost to the Bushland High School Falcons Thursday night, 0-8. The second game of that series is scheduled to start at noon today in Iowa Park.
