The Breckenridge Buckaroos varsity baseball team clinched another playoff title Friday night when they won the Region 1-3A Area round against the Anson Tigers in a double-header sweep at Abilene Christian University’s Crutcher Scott Field.

Despite the rain and chilly temperatures on Friday, the Buckaroos won both games on the 10-run rule. Game 1 ended in the sixth inning with a score of 12-2, and Game 2 ended in the fifth inning with a score of 13-1.

Breckenridge will play the Holliday High School Eagles in the Regional Quarterfinals next week. Holliday was the top team in Region 1-3A’s District 8. They beat Paradise in Bi-District and Jim Ned in Area.

The Regional Quarterfinals games will be played in Graham. Game 1 will begin at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 16. Game 2 will start at 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 17, and if a third game is necessary, it will start 30 minutes after Game 2.
