The Breckenridge Rotary Club and Breckenridge Lions Club will sponsor a Kid Fish at the Frog Pond on Saturday, May 11.

The event will be free and open to kids 16 years of age and under. Kids 10 and under must be accompanied by a parent or a sponsor.

It will be from 8 a.m. to noon at the Frog Pond next to Stephens County Animal Shelter, 601 N. Dubois.
No fishing license will be required, and the kids can keep any catfish they catch. It will be catch-and-release for any other type of fish they catch.

Pictures will be taken of the kids with their catches, and drinks and snacks will be provided. Also, there will be t-shirts for first 70 kids to show up. (The t-shirts will be limited to the sizes available.)

The fishing event was originally scheduled for April, but it was postponed due to bad weather. For this Saturday, May 11, the National Weather Service is showing a 30 percent chance of rain early in the morning with temperatures in the mid- to upper-50s. Saturday’s high temperature is expected to reach 68 degrees later in the day.
