Buckaroo Baseball’s Bi-District Playoff game moved to Henrietta
The Breckenridge High School varsity baseball team will travel to Henrietta today to face the Henrietta High School Bearcats in the Bi-District Championship Playoff after recent storms left the fields in Fort Worth too wet to play on.
The winner of two out of three games will be the champion. Game 1 will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday, May 2, and Game 2 will start 30 minutes after the end of Game 1. If Game 3 is needed, it will be played on Saturday, May 4, in Breckenridge. Henrietta is located east of Wichita Falls.
The Buckaroos are the District 7-3A champions and have an overall record this season of 25-2 and a district record of 13-1. They won their last game, against Paradise High School, 12-2 on April 26.
That game was the last regular season home game and was Senior Night. Each of the seniors on the team was honored, including Diego Arellano, Kyler Knight, Zeke Hernandez, D’Andrey Silva and Justin Wood.
The Bearcats are the fourth place team in District 8.
The winner of the Bi-District game will move on to the Area playoff round and play the winner of the Bi-District match-up between Early High School and Anson High School, which is scheduled for today in Abilene.
District 7-3A’s second place team, the Brock High School Eagles, will play Childress High School, District 8’s third place team, on Friday in Wichita Falls. Boyd High School, District 7’s third place team, will take on Bowie High School (second place, District 8) in a series that starts in Boyd tonight and continues at Bowie on Friday. And, the district’s fourth place team, Paradise High School, will play Holliday High School in a series slated to start today in Graham. All games are subject to change, based on the weather.
