TSTC honors students with awards ceremony

Breckenridge’s Texas State Technical College campus held a ceremony to honor students with awards last week.

Seven students were inducted into the Beta Iota Eta chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, an international honor society for two-year college students. The nursing program students inducted into the honor society were Danielle Nicole Burleson, Lorna Breanne Copeland, Jewelia Kristine Gattis, Brittani Nicolle Haigwood, Morgan Skye Petty, Micaela Nicole Price and Stephanie A. Walters. They were selected for representing the four hallmarks of PTK: scholarship, leadership, service and fellowship. They must have minimum 3.5 GPA.

Also during the ceremony, Roderick Mayfield, a student in the Chemical Dependency Counseling program, received the Program Excellence Award. His instructor, Ivy Delong, selected him for the honor. Mayfield graduated from TSTC on Friday, April 26.
