Betty Jean Procter went home to be with the Lord on April 21, 2019, after a short illness. The family has chosen a private service at a later date. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home.

She was born June 22, 1938 in Mesquite, Texas, to Henry F. Bridges and Bessie Lee Bridges.

Betty enjoyed reading, cooking, sewing, babysitting grandkids and going to church. She and her husband loved to travel and took many trips on motorcycles to see all 48 states. They both enjoyed going to Colorado for vacations and enjoyed fishing in the summertime.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Charlie D. Procter, and four children: Walter R. Bridges, Charles D. Procter, Teresa G. Patterson husband Ricky Patterson, and Jimmy D. Procter and wife Erica Procter; and two sisters-in-law, Pat Bridges and Anne Bridges. Betty is blessed with a large family, including 12 grandchildren, Salina A. Lewis, Latasha N. Machado, Heith L. Bridges, Garrran H. Bridges, Kristin J. Hickson, Rashel G. Murgia, Angie K Taylor, Stephanie L. Sehon, Tracy D Pemberton, Jonathon H. Patterson, and Benjamin E. Patterson; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her mother and father; sisters, Shirley Bridges and Joyce Kaye Mulloy; three brothers, Jacky (Jack) Ray Bridges, Melton Douglas (Doug) Bridges and James Edward Bridges; two great-granddaughters, Sabre Bridges and Kyliegh Taylor; and one grandson, Robert L. Pemberton.

Betty was loved by all and will be missed by those who have met her.
