On Monday evening, April 15, the Breckenridge High School and Junior High School bands showcased their talents in the annual Spring Concert and Baked Potato Fundraiser.

While the band parents booster club members served up baked potatoes and salad in the snack bar of the BHS Athletic and Fine Arts Complex, the bands performed in the main gym.

Kicking off the night of entertainment was the BHS Colorguard team. They were followed by performances by the seventh and eighth grade bands. Earlier this year, the BJHS Varsity Bronco Band participated in the UIL Concert and Sight Reading Contest at Wichita Falls High School, receiving a 1 in concert and 1 in sight reading. It was only the second sweepstakes in the school’s history.

After the junior high bands, the Stage Band performed a full 30 minutes of music. They were followed by the BHS Junior Varsity Band. The BHS Varsity Band wrapped up the concert. The high school bands wore their new uniforms, which just recently arrived.

The BHS and BJHS bands are under the direction of Dane Richardson, director, and Joseph Firenza, assistant director.

Several local businesses contributed to the fundraiser in various ways.
