BHS to present one-act play ‘To See The Stars’ on Friday
Breckenridge High School’s Buckaroo Theatre will present a one-act play adaptation of Cynthia Mercati’s “To See The Stars” at 5:30 p.m. Friday, March 22, in Bailey Auditorium. There will be no admission fee, but donations will be accepted to benefit the theater program.
The play is about a group of young women who work in the New York shirtwaist industry in the early 1900s. They are overworked, underpaid and mistreated, and they organize a labor strike to protest the conditions.
The students recently performed the play at the district UIL contest, and received the following honors:
- Samantha Heatley – Honorable Mention All Star Cast
- Jewell Graves – All Star Cast
- Emily Brannon – All Star Crew
- Jaxon Adams, Mandy Craig, Emily Brannon, Miriam Diaz and Ashlee Norman – Overall Best Crew
