BHS to present ‘High School Musical Jr.’ this week
“High School Musical” was a Disney channel movie that became an instant hit in 2006, and it’s a story that still hits home today with its theme of the drama that ensues when the status quo is challenged. The Breckenridge High School theater department will bring the tale to Bailey Auditorium this week with its presentation of “High School Musical Jr.,” a one-act adaptation of the original musical.
When Troy and Gabriella decide to try out for East High’s musical production, Sharpay and Ryan aren’t happy about it and go to work trying to sabotage the competition. Along the way, Troy is encouraged to focus on basketball and Gabriella is needed on the science decathlon team.
Directed by BHS theater teacher Callie Stenson, “High School Musical Jr.” will be presented at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Dec. 6 and 7, and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9. Tickets will cost $5 each.
