Donald Ray Wilson
Donald Ray Wilson, age 71, passed away Monday, December 3, 2018, at Brazos Valley Care Home in Knox City, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 6, at the Breckenridge Cemetery with Jim Cox officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Morehart Mortuary of Breckenridge.
Donald was born on September 6, 1947, in Gorman, Texas. He served in the military in the United States Navy. He attended and graduated from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. His working experience was varied and included being the branch manager in Colorado City for Big Spring Employees Federal Credit Union, finance and sales manager for Pollard Chevrolet and Elmore Chrysler, operations manager for Southwest 66 Credit Union and division manager for Advantage Sales and Marketing. He did volunteer work with Midland Community Theatre, including holding organizational positions and performing on stage.
He is survived by his son, Britton Dean Thornhill; step-brothers, Randy Nicholson and wife Diana, and Dick Nicholson and wife Rebecca; step-grandmother, Sallie Walters; aunt, Bessie Walters; and several grandchildren and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Walters Nicholson; step-father, Robert P. Nicholson; father, Harold D. Wilson; and several aunts and uncles.
