The event, held at Shawna’s Bake Barn on Oct. 27, was a fundraiser for the eighth-graders, who are in the Class of 2023.

Although costumes were not mandatory, students who wore costumes competed in a contest voted on by those at the dance. The winners were Adler Loftis and Madison Yarger.

The kids ate pizza, nachos, drinks and baked goods, all donated by parents of the eighth-grade class for a concession stand at the dance. Donations for door prizes, costume contests, dance contests and games were given by parents of the Class of 2023 and drawings for the prizes were held throughout the night.  Shawna’s Bake Barn donated the venue, and a local DJ was hired to keep the kids entertained.  Parents of the Class of 2023 donated Halloween decor and their time to decorate the venue from top to bottom.  Parents also served as chaperones.

“Photo booths, games and lots of laughter was had by these junior high students, and it turned out to be a successful fundraiser for the eighth grade class,” said Kim Fuller, Class of 2023 vice president.
